  Grade 2 Winter Homework January 2023   Next semester the school will be taking submissions for the Xinmin Horizons magazine. Students can prepare a short piece of writing 60-100 words in length. There is free choice of genre and topic. Some previous examples are provided below. Please handwrite the final draft on a piece of lined paper. Some reading assignments, writing activities and videos will be set on Savvas Realise for students to complete during winter break.   Grade 2 will be having a reading competition in March. Each home room must choose the three best students to represent us. Students who wish to participate in the class reading competition should choose a book and practice their oral reading. Students may choose any book and they do not have to memorize. The time limit is two minutes. Judging criteria includes- pronunciation, fluency and expression. 4. Grade 2 will have a spelling bee competition in May. Each home room must choose the five best students to represent
